I know what you did last Summer

    I think its similar to Warhol's quote on everyone having his/her 15 minutes of fame (albeit not world famous) because with the internet there is now the opportunity for a significant amount of people to have knowledge about a target person but that target person's knowledge of the people is not reciprocated. The target person's role was traditionally reserved for high profile people but now "ordinary" people have the opportunity to be famous in a small scope since there is a greater consumption of media, which fractals into niche pockets (think cable tv).
    tl;dr - you're famous in a small scope.
