For Seven Days

This is a comic I made for Vermont's Seven Days newspaper. It should be printed on December 4th or maybe a week after that.

Awesome Possum 3

I'm a part of this project! There are many beautifully illustrated stories! (not mine)

The new Rod & Cone Press Anthology My Pace 02 is here!
You can get it directly from Rod&Cone here. The comic has a 6-color screen printed cover with purple crocodiles. No kidding. Only crazy people would do that.

The comic I have in the anthology is below (in full). Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free? Because there are MORE COWS, that's why! The other stories in the anthology are all pretty neat.

CCS Shout Out Day

April 2nd is The Center for Cartoon Studies' Shout Out Day! Please check CCS's website out!
It's early enough for potential applicants to apply for fall semester and register for summer classes. CCS is also celebrating its 10th anniversary this fall!

Studying there might not be cheap (it cost me the car I will never buy), but it was certainly worth it. I learned a lot of things about comics (even if I don't necessarily apply them to my pigs...), and met a lot of people who were passionate about comics, and who made me feel I wasn't the only weird person in the world (nor the most awkward).

Here is a photo of my graduating class. I left school a year before the rest of my classmates, so I had to Photoshop myself into the picture.

This is the official unofficial photo, and Luke Healy is hidden behind Sara.

Another old mini-comic

Click here to download this mini-comic drawn Ed Emberley style. It's one of my personal favorites.

I'm just feeling a little nostalgic about time spent at CCS.
There are two more mini-comics that are coming out that have already been posted in this blog, and then maybe some new ones.

Kickstarter project Maple Key Comics

Hey! There is a comic of mine in this anthology! (see 0:46 of the video for a sneak preview)
I have a serialized story in the first three issues, at least.
Please help support it if you can/want! See project kickstarter page here.
Cheers,
Iris

UPDATE: Sasha also has a series in Maple Key Comics. Sasha's comics might not be for the faint hearted, but they are always amazing.
I forgot to say a little bit about my story in the first three issues - it's a story about the time I volunteered for a hotline service.

Best wishes for 2014

Maple Key Comics

I'm going to have a new pig comics in the upcoming anthology prepared by Maple Key Comics!
More news and updates about it on their Tumblr.

Inspired by Billy Johnson

Mathew New is another classmate from Center for Cartoon Studies.
He does Billy Johnson comics!
This is a fan art I made the other day.

Inspired by Juan's dailies

Juan Fernandez is a classmate of mine from Center for Cartoon Studies.
He does these signature daily 4-panel comics. I've decided to make one, too.

Dossier - Iowa Literaria

Here's a link to some comics I drew in Spanish, written by other people.

There are also other comics written by these same people, drawn by other cartoonists!

A certificate!

I just got a huge certificate for my year at the Center for Cartoon Studies! So what does this mean... Do I have a Masters in Fine Arts? No! Will I become rich and famous? No! Am I a certified good cartoonist? No! Can I charge more for my free drawings? No!
But the certificate looks über awesome. It is worth every penny I paid for it!

Now that the year is over
